New information about a silent storm siren in Green Country. Wagoner County was hit hard by severe weather recently, but warning sirens in Whitehorn Cove never sounded.

Authorities said the storms had already started to pass and they didn't want to alarm residents unnecessarily.

Residents said they wouldnâ€™t mind false alarms, so at a meeting Wednesday night, the Civil Defense Director appointed one person to be the area's storm spotter and to sound the alarm. But the local Civil Defense director told residents the siren is ineffective because it's not loud enough for the area's hilly terrain.
