One of the most popular Broadway musicals of all time will be coming to Tulsa two years from now.

Celebrity Attractions announced Tuesday that Disney's The Lion King will open May 27th, 2006, for a multiple-week run at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center.

The Lion King is now in its 7th sold out year in New York City and is the winner of several Tony and other theatre awards. Celebrity Attractions says the booking comes after lengthy negotiations and long term planning.

They say it also required the cooperation of the City of Tulsa and Performing Arts Center to accommodate the long run of the show.
