Wendy's is going low-carb and Tulsa is testing the market for the fast-food chain. Wendy's is now offering "Meals for Carb Counters".
Customers can choose from a 6 low-carb bunless cheeseburger meals, or a grilled chicken meal with eight grams of carbs.
Burger King, Hardee's and Carl's Junior also offer bunless burgers. And McDonald's is phasing out its "super-sizes" and introducing "Go Active" healthier Happy Meals.
Alan Rowan with Wendy's: "More and more customers are requesting to have low carb alternatives, and Tulsa was chosen - one of six cities to be a part of the test from Wendy's to try to see how the meals work as a whole."
Wendy's other test cities are Kansas City and Saint Joseph, Missouri. There's also Virginia Beach, Virginia; Salt Lake City; and Wichita, Kansas.
