The increasing tensions in the Middle East and abroad means some OU students won't be studying overseas this summer.
The OU Education Abroad office has canceled the summer program at the Universidad de Alcala in Madrid, Spain for nine students. The decision was made because of concerns about instability in the country and threats of future violence since the bombings last month.
Some students say they still plan to go. OU is offering alternative programs to Mexico and Ecuador instead.
