(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A state representative will fill the state Senate seat that was left vacant when her son resigned to take a position with the Grand River Dam Authority.
The state Election Board reports unofficially that Representative Mary Easley of Tulsa got 53% of the votes to beat Locust Grove businessman Jeff Johnson.
The special election was held to replace Kevin Easley of Broken Arrow.
Johnson beat an Inola man in last month's Republican primary to advance to Tuesday's contest. Mary Easley had no Democratic opponents.
The seat covers Tulsa County and parts of Mayes, Rogers and Wagoner counties.
