Tulsa area teachers and principals are a bit more media savvy. Safe Schools Oklahoma taught teachers, administrators, counselors and parents how to work with the media in a school crisis.
Derinda Lowe with the Safe and Drug Free Schools Initiative: "The media can be very helpful in an emergency. They can disseminate information quickly and to alot of people.â€
Local media members and members from Tulsa's Police and fire departments also took part Tuesday.
Safe Schools Oklahoma is a project of the governor's initiative on safe and drug-free schools.
