(Norman-AP) -- Spring football practice began Tuesday for the Oklahoma Sooners.
OU coaches will be looking to fill several openings on defense.
Lombardi Award winner Tommie Harris, Butkus Award winner Teddy Lehman and Nagurski and Thorpe Award winner Derrick Strait are gone from last year's team.
There is also expected to be strong competition for starting positions at tight end and running back.
Weekday practices begin about 3:30 on the practice fields and are open to the public. Saturday's practice starts at 11 AM, but most weekend practice times aren't set and all times are subject to change.
