Bartlesville artist Shan Gray wants to build a 21-story statue of an American Indian warrior to stand as a landmark in downtown Tulsa.

The $26-million bronze statue would be privately-funded, but the city would need to provide incentives and a site for the project. To give you an idea of the size of this proposed landmark, it would be 25 feet taller than the Statue of Liberty and would have a four-story base.

It could also have an elevator to an observation area in the warrior's head also like lady liberty has. Promoters say the monument could boost tourism and bring an economic impact of $500-million or more.
