It's been one year since the Department of Homeland Security was established and from that came Tulsa's Citizen Corps.

The Citizens Corps is a grass roots movement to actively involve citizens in making communities better prepared for emergencies. Suzanne Mencer with the Office of Domestic Preparedness: "Security and safety is a continual process and we'll keep improving the more we get to know each other and work with each other the better we will be."

Tulsa's Citizen Corps has been recognized as one of the 10 best in the nation.
