(Oklahoma City-AP) -- The reward for the gun used to kill an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper the day after Christmas is being increased.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is now offering a $2,000 reward for the Glock .357 semi-automatic used to kill Trooper Nikky Green. The OSBI has said investigators believe the gun was thrown into a trash bin behind the Travel Lodge motel in Norman.
Green was shot to death near Devol while investigating a suspicious car on the side of the road.
Former Duncan firefighter Ricky Ray Malone has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in Green's death. Authorities believe Green was killed as he tried to arrest Malone for operating a mobile methamphetamine lab in the car.
