Some Oklahoma law enforcement officers are getting a pat on the back for a job well done.
Several officers were honored at the Oklahoma Buckle Down awards for their outstanding work in traffic safety enforcement. They were also recognized for educating people on the use of seat belts and child safety seats.
One trauma surgeon, Dr Steven Katsis, says he's happy when the officers are able to make his job easier. "Just the fact that those devices worked and were used properly is again further evidence that it's the right thing to do and it doesn't hurt my feelings at all if I don't have to operate on another child for a significant traumatic injury."
The Tulsa Area Safe Kids Coalition will be checking child safety seats for National Child safety week; the next one is Tuesday at Saint Francis.
