NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ A speeding car veered off a road and slammed into a tree, killing three 17-year-old Moore High School students, police said.

The victims of the Monday evening crash were identified as Brian Trammell and Morice Smith, both of Oklahoma City, and Chad McCarter of Moore.

Trammell and McCarter were seniors at the school, and Smith was a junior, said Moore Public Schools Superintendent Wayland Bonds.

The young men were not wearing seat belts.

All three were pinned in the car, a 2004 Saturn.

The road was dry, but it was just starting to snow when police were notified of the crash at 5:20 p.m.

Counselors from throughout the district went to the high school to speak to the boys' classes and offer group and individual counseling Tuesday.

Bonds described the young men as good students who represented the school well.

``The staff and the counselors and the students are pulling together at Moore High,'' Bonds said. ``We also have to keep the families in our thoughts and prayers.''
