Six months after the city of Tulsa authorized clean-up fees for hazardous waste spills, the Tulsa Fire Department has yet to see a dime.
In July, the Tulsa City Council passed the ordinance for companies to reimburse costs for the fire department's hazmat team. Since then, the city has billed six companies more than $34,000 for spill responses, and "waived" more than four times that amount.
The fire department has yet to be reimbursed.
