A car explosion killed a woman Sunday afternoon in north Tulsa. Police say the woman lost control of her car and hit a protective fence around a gas line near 2800 East 41st North.

Witnesses say they saw the woman check out the damage to her car, then drive off. She didn't get far before her car caught fire and exploded. She was already dead when emergency crews found her.

Tulsa Police are investigating.
