Many Tulsa area soup kitchens and food banks see a drop in supplies after the holiday season.
But one group has answered a call for help. SBC and Cingular employees, along with the Communications Workers of America and the SBC Pioneers, started a food drive just after Christmas.
They donated more than 30 boxes of canned food and other goods to the Trinity Episcopal Church's Iron Gate Mission at 501 South Cincinnati, Wednesday. Bridget Jones, SBC service representative: "When they asked for our help and they've also helped us in our projects. We just want to reciprocate the favor and then just help out those in need.â€
The Iron Gate Mission serves meals to families in need everyday and hands out emergency groceries on Fridays.
