Some Tulsa organizations receive a reward. The Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation gave $250,000 in grants to five Tulsa not-for-profit organizations.
They were chosen based on their innovative projects, education, outreach and treatment support for breast cancer patients. Joe Hrbek, Tulsa Susan G Komen Foundation President: "The organizations that are here today, have been judged by our grants committee as being the most worthy of receiving funding from our local affiliate to help Tulsans in the fight against breast cancer."
The majority of the funds were proceeds from last year's Komen Tulsa Race for a Cure. That money increased this year's grants by more than 42%.
