Men's Fitness magazine recently ranked Tulsa as one of the fattest cities in the US. Tulsa Community College hopes to change that with their new fitness center.
The 46,000 square foot facility opened Monday. It's located on the southeast campus and includes all the regular items of a gym, along with an indoor running track, a basketball court, and a climbing wall.
TCC fitness specialist Becky Wilber: "Our population is 60% overweight and it's not going to get any better if we don't start putting up facilities, burn some calories."
The fitness center is available to TCC students enrolled in at least one class, or to faculty, staff and alumni who pay a fitness center fee.
