Adoptions can be difficult, but a new tool developed by two Green Country women is helping make the process easier.

Kari Jarrett and Diana Criscione are the creators of "Adoption Companion". The computer software helps prospective adoptive parents plan for and manage the adoption process.

Diana Criscione: "The adoption process is fairly daunting, it's different in every state, requirements are different everywhere and paperwork, the cost alone. So being able to have some software that can perhaps help them get a handle, some control in a process that in so many ways they don't have control over. Hopefully will help them."

$5 from each software purchase will go to a non-profit group that helps parents pay for their adoption.

You can find out more about the "Adoption Companion" software online at www.adoptioncompanion.com.
