(Oklahoma City-AP) -- General Tommy Franks is scheduled to come to Oklahoma in March.

The general in charge of the war in Iraq is receiving a citizenship award from the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs.

Franks will receive the award during a ceremony March 24th at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.

The native Oklahoman served as commander in chief of US Central Command during victories in Iraq and Afghanistan.
