US Senator Jim Inhofe says there will "never" be a voluntary buy-out plan for residents of the Tar Creek Superfund site in northeast Oklahoma.

Inhofe says instead he wants to talk to residents in the Picher-Cardin area about selling their homes to companies that specialize in buying properties in environmentally troubled areas.

Much of the area is contaminated from old mines. It's the nation's number 1 Superfund clean-up site. Inhofe says he hopes to meet with residents in the coming week.
