(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Former state Senator Gene Stipe is said to be doing well after surgery to have shunt placed in his head.
Stipe's office says Stipe is ``fine'' following the surgery at Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City.
The shunt is to control the flow of fluid into his brain.
Stipe faces a January 30th sentencing in Washington, DC, for federal campaign violations.
He resigned from the state Senate earlier this year, shortly before pleading guilty to the campaign violation charges.
