Some Tulsa students finished up a patriotic project this weekend. It could impact Campaign 2004.
The News on 6 first told you about the Margaret Hudson students last week. That's when they started a voter registration drive with their peers. Since then, they've stepped out into the community with four drives this month.
Organizers say they've registered dozens more voters as part of a competition between 13 other schools. Teacher Tracie Chandler says she's very proud of her students' work. "Whether we win or not is immaterial at this point, because I am very proud of the things my students have accomplished. They have worked hard, they put in over 30 hours in the project."
The winning school gets $5,000. 2nd and 3rd place get a thousand dollars each.
