When it comes to supporting the US effort in the Middle East, men and women from Oklahoma lead the nation.

4,874 Oklahoma National guardsmen have been activated so far. That's 70% of the state's National Guard troops, higher than any other state.

Although we have the highest percentage of guard troops activated, Alabama is supplying the highest number of soldiers, about 5,100.
