(Tulsa-AP) -- After only winning two games last season, the Tulsa Golden Hurricane may be heading to a bowl this season.
With a 31-to-28 win Saturday over Rice, Tulsa became eligible for a postseason bowl and guaranteed a non-losing season.
That hasn't happened in Tulsa since 1991.
All this has been accomplished under first year coach Steve Kragthorpe.
Kragthorpe says he's happy with the progress, but says the team still has work to do.
The Golden Hurricane are fourth place in the conference and with low attendance figures, the Hurricane will not be a first choice for a bowl.
Bowl organizers prefer teams with large followings and may not be convinced that Tulsa fans will follow their team to a bowl.
