Dozens of law enforcement and emergency workers now have a better understanding of our state's Amber Alert Program.
Our state first started the Amber Alert in 1999. Now, close to 100% of all qualifying agencies are signed up. Amber Alert training officer Sgt. Greg Giltner: “Oklahoma is one of the leaders in this. Of the 50 states 41 have an Amber Alert program. Of those an overwhelming number use Oklahoma as its guidelines.â€
Southwestern Bell has also donated a new 1-800 number for people to call when an alert is issued.
