MILWAUKEE (AP) _ Guard Desmond Mason signed a 3-year contract extension with the Bucks on Monday after being acquired by Milwaukee last season in a trade with Seattle.
Mason, whose extension runs through the 2006-07 season, averaged 14.8 points and a team-high 6.7 rebounds in 28 games after the trade.
``His tireless work ethic, fierce determination and competitive drive are immeasurable to a young team like ours both on and off the floor,'' general manager Larry Harris said.
In the Feb. 20 trade, the Bucks got Mason and Gary Payton for Ray Allen, Kevin Ollie and Ronald Murray and a first-round draft choice.
Mason, 6-foot-5, was drafted by the SuperSonics out of Oklahoma State with the 17th pick in the 2000 draft.
