State police spokesman Lt. William Davis said it appeared that the tractor-trailer had stalled and was pulled over on the shoulder of the road when it was struck.
At least 15 people, including the driver, were on the bus when it crashed around 11 a.m. west of this northeastern Louisiana town. Davis and ambulance workers both said six of those on board died. The bus driver survived.
