A Muskogee family says they refuse to compromise their religious beliefs even if it means their daughter doesn't return to her school.
The News on 6 spoke to the father of 11-year-old Tallah Hearn Friday afternoon. Tallah was suspended from the Benjamin Franklin Science Academy for refusing to take off her Islamic headscarf.
Tallah's father says he met with Muskogee school officials Friday about the suspension. But he says he won't know what the district plans to do until at least next Wednesday.
The Muskogee School District's lawyer had no comment on the case.
