(Tulsa-AP) -- GOP lawmakers canceled a planned announcement at Boeing's Tulsa headquarters Tuesday to avoid any conflict with efforts to land the company's new jet plant.

Senate Republican leader James Williamson says media advisories saying news conferences were scheduled in Tulsa and later Tuesday at the state Capitol "to discuss a possible special legislative session to consider incentives for Boeing" were incorrect.

Williamson says House and Senate leaders planned only to make an announcement about workers compensation reform.

State leaders involved in the negotiations to bring Boeing's new commercial jet assembly line to Tulsa raised concerns about the timing of the announcement and location of the Tulsa news conference at Boeing.

State leaders are negotiating for the plant under a confidentiality agreement with Boeing.
