DALLAS (AP) _ Texas Tech's B.J. Symons, Phillip Geiggar of Texas and Oklahoma State's Darrent Williams were named Big 12 players of the week Monday.

Symons, who also received the honor last week, threw for a Big 12 record eight touchdowns in Tech's 59-28 win over Texas A&M. The Houston native had 505 yards passing for his third consecutive performance of more than 500 yards. Symons leads the nation in total yards of offense per game by averaging 507.4 yards per game.

In his first start, Geiggar halted a Kansas State drive by recovering the ball after forcing a fumble by Kansas State quarterback Ell Roberson. Texas scored on the next series to take the lead and beat Kansas State 24-20. The junior also had seven tackles.

Williams returned two punts for touchdowns and finished with 153 total punt return yards in Oklahoma State's 56-3 win over Louisiana-Lafayette. His touchdowns came on returns of 59 and 78 yards. The 78-yarder was Oklahoma State's longest since R.W. McQuarters ran one back 78 yards against Texas in 1997. Williams leads the NCAA with a 23.3 average on 10 returns.
