Oklahoma's ozone season officially ends on Wednesday. In spite of a string of ozone violations last month, Tulsa has gotten by without winding up on the government's dirty air list.

The close calls will make it even more difficult to stay off the list next year. There were eight ozone alerts issued in Tulsa this year.

And Ozone guidelines have become tougher in recent years. Despite that, Tulsa city officials say the air quality has steadily improved.
