(Wagoner-AP) -- A Wagoner man has been charged with second-degree murder in the killing of a Virginia man at Fort Gibson Lake.
David Allen Kennedy is accused of killing Steven Brett Nilmeier by striking him on the neck with a knife, but without any premeditated design.
Undersheriff Johnny Cannon says Nilmeier's body was found September second at Toppers Point, about four miles east of Wagoner.
The state Medical Examiner's Office says Nilmeier died of a neck wound from a sharp instrument.
An Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation affidavit says Kennedy told authorities he'd been fishing nearby when Nilmeier initiated a confrontation.
Nilmeier had been in the Wagoner area visiting relatives.
