Some drivers in the Bixby area have a case of the Orange Barrel blues. But they don't have to wait much longer for a road project to come to an end.
It's a widening project along Memorial between 151st and 161st Streets. Highway 64 will be widened from two lanes to five lanes. It's a $5-million project designed to help alleviate congestion.
Bixby is one of the fastest growing towns in Oklahoma. If we get good weather, the project could be finished by the end of October, which would be ahead of schedule.
Keith Farrar, Bixby resident "It will all be great when it gets all done. This town has really grown a lot in the last few years. So we really need this."
The contractor has an incentive of $10,000 a day to finish the project early.
