(Oklahoma City-AP) -- AAA Oklahoma says the national average price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline has hit an all-time high.
AAA Oklahoma spokesman Chuck Mai says Wednesday's average of a $1.73 surpasses the previous record of a $1.72 on March 18th of this year.
He says the national average has risen 1.5-cents over the last 24 hours.
AAA reports the Oklahoma average is was a $1.59 Wednesday, up nearly one cent over the last 24 hours, but well below the state's all-time high of a $1.73 registered on June 21st, 2000.
AAA cites several causes for the rise, including a widespread blackout two weeks ago and the break in an Arizona pipeline.
