(Tulsa-AP) -- Tulsa-based Great Plains Airlines announced plans Thursday to offer flights from Tulsa and Oklahoma City to St. Louis, Chicago and Washington, DC.

Great Plains plans to offer flights to MidAmerica St. Louis Airport in Illinois, about 20 miles east of St. Louis. Flights will then be offered from MidAmerica to Chicago Midway and Washington Dulles International.

Airline officials say they expect the flights to begin in October.

Great Plains currently has flights to Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Nashville, Tennessee, and Albuquerque, New Mexico.
