A high-speed chase early Wednesday goes through four counties. It also sent an OHP trooper to the hospital.
The chase ended in Tulsa, but actually began near Vinita. That's where troopers stopped a pick-up truck around two o'clock Wednesday morning on Interstate-44. A search turned up drugs and money. A passenger ran away and while troopers tried to arrest him, the driver took off.
Speeds were in excess of 100 miles per hour. One trooper was hurt after he hit a retaining wall and semi-truck, he will be okay. The suspect wound up crashing at 33rd West Avenue in Tulsa and ran off. He was quickly arrested.
Tulsa Police officer Chris Steel, “the dog actually located him hiding under the house before I was aware of where he was. The dog got under the porch and found him and uh then I couldn't hear the suspect, looked down and he was offering to come out and surrender then.â€
Both suspects are in the Tulsa County jail. Charges are pending.
