Eleven Tulsa Public Schools are on the "School Improvement" list, which means students are performing below state standards. That's five more than last year.

This is the fourth year Bryant Elementary has been on the list. Other elementary schools are Anderson, Celia Clinton, Lindsey, Springdale and Mark Twain. Five middle schools Cleveland, Gilcrease, Hamilton, Madison and Monroe are also on the list.

Katie Pigeon transferred her seven year old to Bryant two years ago because she says the school is a good one and she doesn't regret that decision. “It still wouldn't have mattered. There's a lot of prized people in this building and teachers that really care.”

If parents want to, they can transfer their child to another school in the district, but they have until Friday to get it done. 5,000 students are eligible for such a move.
