(Ada-AP) -- U-S Representative Tom Cole has been asked to find out why some Chickasaw Nation voters haven't received their ballots.
Chickasaw election commission director Rite Loder says more than 17-thousand ballots were mailed to registered voters on August fourth, but some still haven't received their ballots.
Cole spokeswoman Julie Bley says a representative from their office is seeking information from the U-S Postal Service in Oklahoma City. Their findings are expected to be released next week.
Voters must have their ballots at the Ada post office by 10 a-m on Tuesday for them to be counted.
Among the political positions at stake is the Chickasaw Nation's gubernatorial post. Governor Bill Anoatubby is being challenged by Donna Hartman, a Chickasaw legislator from Overbrook.
