(Undated-AP) -- Former state Representative Mike Mass has won back his old seat.

Mass won a special election Tuesday against two fellow Democrats to replace Richard Lerblance, a Hartshorne attorney who represented House District 17.

Lerblance won a special election earlier this year to succeed former state Senator Gene Stipe of McAlester. Stipe resigned following a federal election campaign probe.

Mass, of Hartshorne, won with 3,057 votes, or 52% of the vote. Bill SanMillan of Stuart received 1,990 votes, or 34%. Dave Shaw of Talihina received 764 votes, or 13%. No Republicans sought the post.

Mass did not seek re-election to the seat last year to run for the congressional seat held by US Representative Brad Carson.
