A recent casualty of the war had ties to Oklahoma. 21-year-old Army Specialist Jonathan Paul Barnes grew up in Coweta. He moved to Missouri where he married and started a family.

Barnes was killed this weekend in a grenade attack while guarding an Iraqi children's hospital. His father, James Barnes, says his son died with honor, doing a job he wanted. "Very proud, very proud of him. He wanted to do this. No one could have talked him out of this. His wife tried; first I didn't want him to go.â€

Barnes is survived by his wife Amanda and two-year-old daughter Michelle.
