All good things must come to an end. In this case, its summer break for kids in year-round-school. Students gathered up their school supplies and headed to class Wednesday at Union's Clark Elementary School at 3656 South 103rd East Avenue.

The fifth-graders' first assignment was learning names, picking out reading books, and getting down to business. Lance Dokata-Saldivar, "we did language, math, science, social studies. Now we're on reading. We got to the gym and lunch, all kinds of stuff like that.” Lance says he's already met a couple of new friends, too.

Union cut its year-round classes at two other elementary schools. That change saved the district $120,000.
