(Stillwater-AP) -- Lewis Field at Oklahoma State University is undergoing renovation.

OSU removed the rust from beams and girders underneath the north stands and painted the stadium a tan color.

A similar makeover will begin on the south side and may be completed before the September 6th opener.

Athletic director Larry Birdwell says he gets tickled when people see what looks like a brand new stadium.

When phase 1 of the three-year project is completed before the 2004 season, the south stands will have many extras. Club seats, luxury suites, a mezzanine level, more restrooms and concessions, escalators and a new press box will greet fans.
