(McAlester-AP) -- Six communities in Oklahoma will get federal grants to help with emergency preparedness and response.

The Department of Homeland Security grants will go to fire departments in McAlester, Stilwell, Westville, Hastings, Muldrow and Bartlesville.

They're among about seven thousand grants worth $750-million.

The Oklahoma grants include:

_ $36,000 for High Hill Volunteer Fire Department in McAlester.

_ $54,000 for Adair County Tri Community Volunteer Fire Department in Stilwell.

_ $36,000 for Chance Volunteer Fire Department in Westville.

_ $21,000 for Corum Volunteer Fire Department in Hastings.

_ $75,000 for Muldrow Volunteer Fire Department.

_ and $28,000 for Washington County Fire Department in Bartlesville.
