(Tulsa-AP) -- Authorities say an 11-year-old boy drowned Thursday in Lake Keystone.

The Oklahoma Lake Patrol says the drowning occurred about 6:17 PM in Area Three of Walnut Creek State Park in Osage County.

According to the patrol, Nicholas Horner disappeared about 25 yards from the water's edge. A family member pulled the boy from the water.

Nicholas was flown by helicopter to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:42 PM.
