Communities near area lakes are ready for the July 4th weekend. And they're ready to cash in. In Salina near Hudson Lake, they're gearing up for one of the biggest weekends of the year.

It's a four-day celebration known as July 4th Fest. It started in the 30's, and one organizer has been part of the celebration since. Festival organizer Ray Hayley, â€œthere will be a lot of people coming in to town that haven't been I here for a long time. So that's what it all amounts to.â€

As a matter of fact, about 50,000 people are expected to attend the four-day celebration. And that will mean a lot of extra cash for the local economy.
