An evening to recognize some of Tulsa's leading citizens, turned into an economic development opportunity.
The Tulsa Global Alliance held its annual awards dinner Tuesday night. Among the honorees, the Boeing Company and its communications director, Steve Hendrickson.
Governor Brad Henry says when it comes to Boeing as well as American Airlines; Tulsa has a lot to offer. “This maintenance facility here in Tulsa is the most productive of the American maintenance facilities. So I think we're in excellent shape with American, and who knows about Boeing, the competition is very stiff, but we feel extremely confident that we'll be in the final cut.â€
Steve Hendrickson with Boeing, "the productivity of our existing facilities in this state is one of the things that will be looked at very heavily I suspect.â€
It will be a few months before we know which states are still in the running for Boeing's new assembly plant.
