(Austin-AP) -- University of Texas pitching coach Frank Anderson Monday accepted an offer to become Oklahoma State's new head baseball coach.
Anderson replaces Tom Holliday, who was fired last month after Oklahoma State failed to make it into the NCAA tournament for the second straight season. Holliday had coached at Oklahoma State for 26 years, seven of those as head coach.
The 44-year-old Anderson coached Texas pitchers for the past four seasons, including the 2002 staff that earned a College World Series title. He was also being considered for TCU's top job.
