OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Oklahoma County prosecutors have charged an Oklahoma City University basketball player with misdemeanor drunken driving for his involvement in an injury accident last month.

Eugene Deeray Chambers, 22, also is charged with driving without a license and failing to yield at a yield sign.

The May 29 accident occurred about 3 a.m. when Chambers collided with Oklahoma City police officer Dustin White, police said.

Chambers was taken to the hospital with a collapsed lung. White was treated for minor injuries to his arm, leg and head.

In the 1999-2000 basketball season, Chambers led John Marshall High School in Oklahoma City to the Class 5A state championship.
