(Norman-AP) -- Two Oklahoma athletes have been named Academic All-Americans.

Senior gymnast Brett Covey and junior golfer Doug Manor were named to the 2002-2003 Verizon Academic All-American Men's At Large Third Team Tuesday morning.

Covey qualified with a 3.58 cumulative GPA in chemical engineering. Manor is carrying a 4.0 cumulative GPA in finance.

Sooner gymnast David Johnson was named a first team Verizon Academic All-American last year. Five members of the men's golf team made the All Big 12 Academic Team. Six gymnasts made the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Academic First Team.
