A Haskell County woman faces criminal charges for alledgedly breastfeeding another woman's baby without the parents' consent.
The Stigler day care owner is charged with outraging public decency and public morals. Her day care facility has been shut down as a result.
Investigators say Shannon Denney, who's also an attorney, was trying to comfort the 3 month old by nursing the infant.
When the mother found out, she told the police. They say Denny admitted it.
Some in Stigler don't think going to court is necessary, but the new owner of the day care disagrees.
Michelle Moore, Daycare Worker: "Just personally, I think it's just a special bond between a mother and a child - her own child."
Louise Boyles, Stigler Resident: "Well, I think they've hurt her enough, because she's closed her daycare down and I just think she was trying to help the baby."
Shannon Denney will appear in court next week. She could face up to a year in jail. DHS says there is no policy addressing breast-feeding someone else's child.
